Taking on Ottawa

Winnipeg -- Bravo and a warm thank you to those who have donated funds for the return of Abousfian Abdelrazik, a much-maligned (tricked, unlawfully held, tortured) innocent Canadian stranded in Sudan (Canadians Defy Law In Bid To Bring Home One Of Their Own - front, March 13).

I am absolutely appalled at the actions of our government. I have followed this story with shame and disbelief and was waiting for some public appeal so that I, too, could donate funds - jail or no jail.

Canada should apologize and compensate Mr. Abdelrazik for this bungled attempt at "security."
